Meeting Time and Place: 10 a.m. at Glacier View SnoPark in Government Camp

Tour Description and Anything Else: Let’s enjoy a SUPERb ski outing on February 12th at Mt. Hood on a rare day with less traffic and crowds! Depending on conditions, we’ll ski the Crosstown Loop and Summit trails in Government Camp and potluck hearty snacks at the Glacier View parking lot afterwards. We might even dance! Plan B would be meeting and skiing at Trillium Lake. You would be notified if low snow on the Crosstown Loop forces us to switch to Trillium Lake.

Tour Difficulty: Intermediate. Approximate length of the outing at either SnoPark is 5 miles. Terrain: Mostly flat or a gentle grade. We would ski at a relaxed pace.

Please come prepared for wintry conditions—carrying proper gear and clothes, and adequate water—and bring a lunch or snacks for a break at the midway point at the Summit Lodge. This is where we will cross Highway 26 on foot to reach the Summit Trailhead, recrossing it once again at the end to return to Glacier View.

For the potluck, please bring a hearty snack to share with the group. This could be nuts, cut fruit, vegetables and dip, cheese and crackers, olives, etc. Enough for about 6-8 persons. Also, pack your own drink, a plate and table service for yourself, and a camp chair, if you like.
