About the program:
Modern Cartography and Mapping Mount Hood: what are maps made of?
Maps are powerful tools for understanding our environment and how we can navigate and interact with it, and an important resource for maintaining and expanding access to public lands. Local cartographer James Wilson discusses the modern cartographic landscape and tools for planning and staying found on adventures. He shares some of his insights and adventures across thousands of miles on foot in the Mount Hood National Forest in the field collecting data and on the construction of new maps, published under Elevation Changes Cartographic- including the fresh MHNF Winter Recreation field map.
Hope to see you in person or online!
