7:30 p.m. Brief general meeting followed by program: “Geology from the Slopes of Mt. Bachelor” with Dr. Daniele Mckay

The volcanic landscapes of the Oregon Cascades have been shaped by tectonic forces that are active on a global scale. In central Oregon, these forces interact to create a geologically diverse region of snow-covered volcanic peaks and landscapes created by faults. In this presentation, geologist Daniele McKay will explore the tectonic forces that have shaped Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, with a focus on some of the spectacular geologic features that can be seen while skiing at Mt. Bachelor.
