9:00 AM Meeting – 10 November (Friday – Veterans Day) Intermediate Tour
Description:
There are rumors of snow at Mt Hood and it is time to check this out. This tour is an out-and-back up from Government Camp to Timberline lodge. At Timberline lodge we’ll have hot chocolate before zooming back down. . It is not the most exciting tour but it is a good one to start the season off as we first strap these long sticks to our feet and see if we can remember how to ski. Snow coverage is always somewhat iffy. We may get rained on and start out walking but as we climb up we’ll certainly get good snow. The tour is ~10 miles long total and we gain ~1,800 feet. Intermediate due to distance.
To be on this tour you must contact me by e-mail in advance. I do this so that in case the trip is cancelled I can contact everyone. Sorry for the hassle related with this but I need to ensure a safe tour.
