On Wednesday 19th, Andrew Black will lead a loop tour from Bennett Pass SnoPark, along the Bennett Ridge Trail, across the “Terrible” traverse, and down the Fat Lady (should really be the pregnant woman trail!) into the E. Fork Hood River drainage. From there we return to the SnoPark via the (mis-named) Pocket Creek Trail. Total distance is about 8 miles. Ideal conditions would be a couple of inches of new snow over a solid base. There is nothing technical about this route — it’s mostly on logging roads — but you should have an efficient diagonal stride to cover the distance and moderate descending skills.
If you have questions, please email the leader at apblack@ownmail.net, or text him at 503 eight-oh-three 1669. Advance signup is required!
