Winthrop, WA River Run Inn
Jan. 20-25, Fri-Wed
All abilities skiing on 200 km of groomed trails in perfect snow and sun!
Summer is nearly over, so can skiing in the Methow Valley be far behind? Rhetorical question. Once again, we will return to the River Run Inn Guest House for 5 nights and ski the extensive and perfectly groomed trails for 4 days in January. There is something for everyone here–the long, flat valley floor that many like to skate, the hills and views of the Rendezvous area, the varied loops around Sun Mountain Lodge, 40km. of snowshoe trails, an ice skating rink, ski lessons, and fat tire bikes for rent. We are more likely to have dry snow and sunshine than on our side of the Cascades, and the grooming makes every day a good snow day.
Winthrop is a charming town that also offers food, micro brews, art and books within ½ mile of our lodging. We will stay in the Guesthouse, a lodge-like house with an adjacent pool, convenient but minuscule hot tub, and an institutional kitchen for the preparation of pot luck dinners. There is a supermarket nearby for emergencies. We will plan the next day’s activities each evening.
What to do about COVID-19 (last year we did pre-trip testing in addition to the waiver) will be determined later.
