Where are some good places to ski in the area?
The Trails and Maps section of our resources has some useful links, maps and information. See the Day Tours Listings for some popular trails on Mt. Hood. Be mindful that it’s been developed over time and some things could be out of date. Always check before you go; you can ask on the Member’s Forum or try the Ranger Station in area. The only cost for these are the requisite Sno-park permit.
For Classic Nordic, groomed tracks or skate skiing, there is Teacup Nordic and nearby Mt. Hood Meadows Nordic on the east side of Mt. Hood. Both are fee areas and grooming is done on different days, so check the website for current conditions and cost. These are both great from beginner to expert.
Mt. Adams, Old Man Pass and Mt. St. Helens are all in the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest. Trails there run the gamut from intermediate to challenging. Those at Old Man Pass and Mt. Adams may be groomed, but those at Mt. St. Helens generally are not. Also, these require a separate Washington Sno-park permit.
