The Ski Bus will not be running in 2021.  We hope to return in 2022.  Stay safe.

Here you will find information on how to join us at Teacup Lake for a hassle-free day of skiing

Trip Rating: For beginners and first timers as well as anyone that enjoys cross country skiing on groomed trails

Location:  Teacup Nordic Snow Park is located just south east of Mt. Hood Meadows ski resort. The bus, however, will leave from two locations; Portland and Sandy

Join the ONC-PDX sponsored XC Ski & Snow Bus from Portland/Sandy to Teacup groomed tracks on Mt. Hood

Enjoy a relaxing bus trip to 20 km of groomed tracks and learn new skills, meet new friends, get exercise and fresh air (See optional activities while at Tea Cup below).

Leave your car at home to avoid the stress of driving on congested roads and finding parking lots full. This trip has two pick-up/drop-off points and you must select the correct ticket to match where you will be joining us.

At the Max Gateway Garage in Portland (located at 1211 NE 99th Ave, Portland, OR; cross street NE Multnomah St)
Check-in is at 07:45 am and the bus will DEPART at 07:55 am.
Return time: ~5:00 pm (dependent on traffic)

(January dates only) In Sandy, Meet bus on Pioneer Blvd. near Otto’s Ski & Mountain Bike shop (38716 Pioneer Blvd, Sandy, OR).

Parking for personal cars at parking lot behind and below Otto’s Ski & Mountain Bike shop (38716 Pioneer Blvd, Sandy, OR). From Portland/Gresham, drive east on Hwy 26 which turns into Pioneer Blvd. going east on one way grid, then right-downhill on Bruns Ave. then right at dead end into parking lot.

Check-in and Departure time:  Bus will arrive in Sandy at about  08:40 am;  check in with coordinator and the bus will DEPART about 08:45 am or shortly after its arrival. All cross country ski gear needs to be rented prior to snow bus arrival.
Return time: ~4:00 pm (dependent on traffic)

Snow bus costs:
$18 for ONC members – must be logged in for the savings!
$23 for non-ONC members

Trip cost is non-refundable. You can send a replacement to take your spot for no additional charge. 

Teacup trail pass is required from all skiers ($10/day;  $90/season, paid at teacupnordic.com or inserted in Teacup collection box)

Registrants need to be 18 years or older. Registrants age 11-18 need to be accompanied by a registered responsible adult.


Options for skiing activities at Teacup.

  • Ski on own or join ONC-Portland volunteer for a tour (NO pre-registration or extra cost required).
  • (January dates only) Skating lessons with Wyeastnordic for $50 for a half day lesson. Register online with Wyeastnordic
  • (January dates only) Diagonal ski lesson and tour for first timers and beginners offered by NW Discoveries. Full day lesson and tour is $66/person. Register with NW Discoveries online or call 503-524-9192.

Possible Snowshoe tour on either Feb. 1 or 8, 2020, please check ONC calendar for actual date

Need to bring: Personal cross country skis, poles and boots OR rent prior to pickup. In Sandy, we recommend Otto’s Ski and Mountain Bike shop if you’re renting.
Also bring: Personal lunch, water, day pack or fanny pack Winter clothes worn or in pack: Ski hat and gloves, warm jacket, rain jacket and pants. Try to wear synthetic, wool and silk clothes. Cotton is very cold when it gets wet. Sunglasses, sunscreen, lip protection, sun hat. Change of dry clothes to change into for ride home in duffle bag.
