METHOW VALLEY NEW YEAR’S

How does one girl get so lucky? I just joined ONC in late November 2021 and my first overnight trip was to the stunning and majestic XC ski destination of Methow Valley, North America’s largest XC ski area with over 120 miles of trails. Much of the trails cross into private lands that 175 landowners grant easements for public trail access (how gracious of them!)

As luck would have it, I had met one of ONC’s avid leaders, Ted Scheinman, while volunteering at the ONC booth at the Snowvana Show held at the Convention Center. Meeting Ted has been instrumental in my learning the ropes of the ONC community. If you haven’t been yet, Methow is heavenly, and there are miles and miles of groomed trails for both classic and skate. In the four days that we skied, each day was a new and exciting adventure, and we were blessed with excellent weather the whole trip.

We were a group of 10 enthusiastic skiers put up in two warm and cozy homes. Sharing food at the end of the day was a nice way to gather and enjoy the company of those who live and breathe for the exhilaration of being in nature.
