Andrew Black will lead a day tour on 15th February. Conditions permitting, this will be in the Weygandt Basin, near Cooper Spur on Mt Hood. The route will be a mixture of trails through the woods (which may mean negotiating fallen trees and branches), and old logging roads. Our destination will be Inspiration View Point, which can be windy. This area is fairly low elevation, so the destination may change if there is not enough snow cover. Never fear: we will find somewhere to ski!
Logistics: Meet in Troutdale at 8am to carpool — look at the location map if you don’t know where the Public Parking by the police department is located. It’s about 153 miles round trip from Troutdale to Cooper Spur — at 15¢ per mile, that’s a carpool fee of $23. If you have a snow-worthy car, please be prepared to drive. If you book a spot and can’t make it at the last minute, please send a text message to the leader on 503 eight-oh-three 1669.
