Intermediate Backcountry Ski
We’ll backcountry ski to the ONC-PDX managed shelter on the Northeast side of Mt. Hood, a 3 mile ski with a 1,900-foot gain up the Tilly Jane Ski Trail to the cabin at 5,700 feet elevation. Participants carry their own gear, including sleeping bags, pad, and food for all meals. We have a propane stove for cooking meals or heating water. Experienced intermediate skiing skills with turning ability, good physical condition and navigation/route finding skills using map, compass or GPS. Climbing skins are required.
Trip Limit: 4 max, Open to ONC members only with preference given to TJ work party volunteers
Cost: Free (another club benefit). You must be an ONC member before signing up for this trip.
