For strong Intermediate to advanced skiers, Groomed and ungroomed trail skiing
Wanting some of the best Cross-Country skiing in the west, come join us! We plan to carpool from Portland to Bellingham, stay overnight. Depart and cross the border at Abbotsford and head east and either ski at Manning Park or Kane Valley Nordic depending on snow cover. Then drive to Kelowna and stay at a nice house with 7 bedrooms with Hot Tub for 3 nights. Skiing Telemark Nordic and McCulloch Lakes Resort for 3 days. We will then transfer to Silver Star Mountain. where we will stay in a deluxe condo on the ski slope with hot tub for 3 nights. We will ski Sovereign Lakes and Silver Star Nordic. We will then drive to Okanogan, WA and stay overnight with a chance to ski in the afternoon at Methow Valley. In the morning we will ski Echo Ridge Nordic area in Chelan and stay overnight then drive home.
We will share cooking for 6 nights; food costs are included for this. We will eat out 3 nights while traveling at your expense. Food is included for breakfasts and lunches. Ski Passes not provided and average $10 if we buy them as a group. Make sure your passport is current and valid and bring a swimsuit for the hot tub.
We will carpool and share car costs. Plan on 10-20 mile ski days for 8 days. Skate skiing is available at the groomed resorts and a few resorts have rentals.
Trip limit: 8 participants including trip leader.
Cost: $750/member, per person. Includes 9 nights lodging and meals as described.
Carpool miles: Approximately 1400 miles roundtrip from Portland plus excursions to trailheads.
