Atkisson SnoPark Intermediate Day Outing 2/3/24

Conditions are looking promising for a day outing to Mt. Adams this Saturday, February 3rd. This will be an Intermediate outing, although beginners who can manage ungroomed trails are welcome, too. Current forecasts call for temps in the low 30s on a base of new snow predicted to fall late this workweek. With our on-again, off-again season so far, this outing will be relatively easy and mostly flat, so it will be ideal if you, like me, have felt like a very frustrated skier to this date. To add more interest to enjoying this already magnificent area, we could bring along spikes and headlamps to explore the Gruler Ice Cave, and lunch near the Natural Bridge, one of the volcanic features in the area. Participants will be expected to bring equipment in good condition and food, water, extra clothing, and the Ten Essentials. Also, bring gas money per the Club’s mileage policy if you carpool with others. If there’s interest, we could tailgate at the SnoPark parking lot after skiing. If you’re interested, please bring a chair and a snack to share. Maximum 10 skiers. When you sign up, please give me your phone number so that we can chat before the outing. I will share more details with you at that time. Thank you!
