An eager group of 12 headed over to the Anthony Lakes Ski Area for some fun in the snow, including four who were on their first overnight trip with the club: Susan Dixon, Dan Franek, Audrey Bergsma, and Mark Scantlebury. It was a pleasure to meet and ski with them all.
With very little new snow, the grooming at Anthony Lakes made the best of the conditions and our diverse group enjoyed all of the opportunities the resort has to offer: 20km of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing, a downhill area, and some ventures into the backcountry. We enjoyed very sunny days which gave us great views as a reward at the top of the wonderful black diamond nordic trails.
Another highlight of the trip was our new accommodations from previous years. Everyone agreed the Wunder House was pretty sweet, especially the pampering in the hot tub and massage chair after a day of skiing. The outdoor area was beautiful and would be great for a fish fry potluck with ample seating, gas fire pits, a sound system, beautiful lighting, and two grills. We didn’t get a chance to take full advantage this year but I am sure they will in the future.
Put this trip on your radar for next year. You will not be disappointed!
