Hood\, OR DESCRIPTION:Intermediate Back Country Ski\n\nFriday and Saturday night stay in the historic Tilly Jane A-Frame cabin. You’ll back country ski to th e ONC-PDX managed shelter on the Northeast side of Mt. Hood\, a 3 mile ski with a 1\,900-foot gain up the Tilly Jane Ski Trail to the cabin at 5\,70 0 feet elevation. Experienced intermediate skiing skills with turning abil ity\, good physical condition and navigation/route finding skills using ma p\, compass or GPS. Climbing skins are REQUIRED. \n\nParticipants carry th eir own gear\, including sleeping bags\, pad\, toilet paper\, and food for all meals. Water is obtained at the Tilly Jane Creek or by melting snow. We have a wood stove and pots heating water. Participants might also bring their own cooking stove and pots.\n\nThis is a cabin maintenance work wee kend. Attendees will participate in completing minor cabin activities incl uding checking smoke detectors &\; wood supply\, making kindling\, rode nt control\, cleaning the cabin and other repairs as identified. \;\n\ nTrip Limit: 20 people max\, Open to all ONC members and 2022 Tilly Jane V olunteers\nCost: Free.
