SUMMARY:Sunriver Thanksgiving Ski Trip
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday - Sunday (plus Monday extra)\, All AbilitiesIt’s ti
 me to ski\, eat turkey\, and repeat. Nine of us will spend 4 nights in Sun
 river Resort\, arriving at our house Wednesday evening and carpooling to t
 he Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center and environs to kick off the ski season on g
 roomed and backcountry trails. Our new realtor is adding a 5th day free\, 
 so some may want to also spend Sunday night in Sunriver.We have had snow o
 utside of our door some years\, but usually start skiing at the Mt. Bachel
 or Nordic Center and beyond the day after our Thanksgiving feast. The Nord
 ic Center\, with its miles of groomed trails\, opens early in the season a
 nd offers a range of trails for beginning to experienced XC skiers and ska
 ters. We will also be prepared for hiking\, and the resort has miles of pa
 ved walking and biking trails as well as a recreation center to which we w
 ill have passes. We ONC skiers have learned to be flexible early in the ye
 ar.Sunriver Resort is 20 miles south of Bend\, blessed by sunshine and dry
  snow. We will carpool there and share potluck meals. Our house is equippe
 d with a hot tub\, well-stocked kitchen and a fireplace. The area is also 
 near the High Desert Museum\, and some folks take time to wander through S
 unriver Village or go to the holiday crafts fair. We will carpool there an
 d organize potluck dinners. This is where ski season begins!Trip limit: 9
