SUMMARY:Thanksgiving in Sunriver\, OR—an ONC Tradition
DESCRIPTION:All Ability SkiIt’s time to ski\, eat turkey\, and repeat. 8 
 of us will spend 4 nights in Sunriver Resort\, arriving at our house Wedne
 sday evening and carpooling to the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center and environs
  to kick off the ski season on groomed and backcountry trails. Last year w
 e—unusually--had snow in Sunriver\, so skied out our door and around the
  resort as well as at the mountain. Other years we’ve headed into the ba
 ckcountry. The Nordic Center\, with its miles of groomed trails\, is alway
 s open early in the season and offers a range of trails for beginning to e
 xperienced XC skiers and skaters. We will also be prepared for hiking\, an
 d the resort has miles of paved walking and biking trails as well as a rec
 reation center to which we will have passes. Folks can bring bikes\, if so
  inclined. We ONC skiers have learned to be flexible early in the year.Sun
 river Resort is 20 miles south of Bend\, burdened by sunshine and dry snow
 . Our house is equipped with a hot tub\, well-stocked kitchen and a firepl
 ace. The area is also near the High Desert Museum\, and some folks take ti
 me to wander through Sun River Village or go to the holiday crafts fair. W
 e will carpool there and organize potluck dinners. This is where ski seaso
 n begins!Trip limit: 8 participants (including the leader)Cost: $195 /memb
