 /2024\nMt. Hood is almost an empty playground on Superbowl Sunday\, so let
 's take advantage of open roads and uncrowded trails to ski and socialize 
 there! Plan to ski at Bennett Pass. The 5-mile\, out and back trail is ung
 roomed\, and winds through the woods on level sections\, and gentle to mod
 erate hills.Mt. Hood is visible in places\, and utterly picture-worthy a c
 ouple of miles in! If I have a co-Leader willing to take a group\, skiers 
 can also continue uphill from that spot to ski the Terrible Traverse for p
 ossible views of Mt. Jefferson. If it's icy\, you might want to bring alon
 g skins for the descent.\n\nThis outing is ideal for intermediate skiers w
 anting a fun ski at a relaxed pace. Beginners who can handle ungroomed tra
 ils are also welcome. Skiers will need to bring touring or BC skis\, and t
 hose and all other gear needs to be in working order. Also\, please carry 
 water\, additional clothes\, 10 Essentials\, and trail snacks. There is a 
 bathroom at the Bennett Pass trailhead. For the tailgate party in the park
 ing lot following our tour\, bring a snack or lunch item to share with the
  group\, and a chair to kick back in. Have a few favorite songs in mind in
  case one of us has a great\, car stereo system\, and we can play requests
 . Dancing is optional! We will be carpooling from the East side. Take alon
 g gas money per the ONC Club mileage rate if you ride with a driver. Drive
 rs will need to have a SnoPark permit.\n\nI'll share more details when we

 ne to pay that way. Also\, touring and track skis work better here\; if yo
 u have BC skis\, plan to ski next to the groomed tracks. Teacup has bathro
 oms and an indoor lunch space with a woodstove to warm up by. Thanks!
