  Ski\n\nCelebrate the New Year in the peaceful setting of Black Butte Ranc
 h. Settle in by the fire with a congenial group of Nordic skiers and enjoy
  good food\, wine and interesting conversations after an invigorating day 
 in the outdoors. Our accommodations are a large house with one king bedroo
 m\, three queen bedrooms\, and two bunks.\n\nThis central Oregon location 
 is close to skiing on Santiam Pass and in the Three Creeks area south of S
 isters. When there is snow at Black Butte Ranch\, as there was&nbsp\; last
  year\, there is great skiing right in Black Butte Ranch trails.&nbsp\; Th
 e Mt. Bachelor Ski Area\, which boasts access to prime backcountry skiing 
 as well as groomed trails\, is only 32 miles away. Not far from Bachelor a
 re the Swampy Lakes and Virginia Meissner Nordic ski areas.&nbsp\; If the 
 snowpack is low\, hiking is always an option— from the panoramic Smith R
 ocks to along the Metolius River\, where otters play in its clear waters.\
 n\nAmenities at Black Butte Ranch include community hot tubs\, sauna\, and
  swimming pool. For those who want to take a break from outdoor activities
 \, the historic town of Sisters with its restaurants\, bakery\, bookstore\
 , and various shops is close by. This trip is sure to appeal to everyone w
