 neral meeting followed by program: Oregon's Vanishing Glaciers\n\nOur Janu
 ary 11 speaker will be Dr. Anders Carlson\, president and co-founder of th
 e Oregon Glaciers Institute.  Dr. Carlson fell in love with glaciers as a
 n undergraduate student while conducting research at Matanuska Glacier in 
 Alaska\, and has spent 20+ years staying them in the U.S.\, Canada\, Green
 land\, Svalbard\, Scandinavia\, Patagonia and Antarctica. Dr. Carlson’s 
 talk for ONC will focus on new findings by the Oregon Glaciers Institute b
 ased on their comprehensive census of glaciers in Oregon. How many glacier
 s existed in Oregon and how many remain today? What caused these changes? 
 The discussion will close on a note about the future and what can be done 
 to preserve Oregon’s icy environment.\n\nThe link will be sent to member
