With 300 inches of an nual snowfall\, the Anthony Lakes Ski Area near Baker City boasts the best powder skiing in the Northwest. Both downhill and Nordic skiers come to e njoy this breathtaking location at the north end of the Elkhorn Mountains.  \;\n\nThe Nordic center (6\,000 ft.) maintains 18 miles (30 km) of gr oomed trails with every level of difficulty. There’s also easy access to backcountry areas near the center\, often by starting at the top of the s ki lift (7\,200 ft.). Another skiing possibility is Dooley Pass south of B aker City\, showcasing panoramic views of the valleys below. Depending on time and weather\, we could stop and ski the groomed trails on our way to Baker at Meacham Divide just west of La Grande. \;\n\nWe will be stayi ng at The Wunder House and the Cottage in Baker City\, making it an hour d rive to Anthony Lakes. The highlights of the house and cottage are a hot t ub\, sauna\, and a massage chair to pamper those tender muscles after a fu n-filled day of skiing! There is also a covered outdoor seating area with gas fireplaces. In the main house there is 3\,400 sq ft. to relax and soci alize in with five bedrooms and three baths.
