Backcountry ski, snowshoe, or hike to this ONC-PDX managed shelter on the east side of Mt. Hood—a three-mile ski with 1,900 feet elevation gain up the Tilly Jane ski trail to the cabin at 5,700 feet elevation. Participants carry their own gear, including sleeping bag, pad, and food for all meals. There is a wood stove for heating water; you should bring your own stove and cooking pots. Experienced intermediate skiing skills with turning ability, good physical conditioning, and navigation skills using map, compass, or GPS are required. Climbing skins are mandatory.
